Yoghurt and Mint sauce

Yoghurt and Mint sauce

Both of these are very simple recipes, but always cause a sensation when presented and eaten… Better still, they only take a few minutes to prepare!

ONION SALAD

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cooking Onions
  • 1 Tomato
  • ½ inch Cucumber
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Red Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 teaspoons Mint Sauce (the sort served with Roast Lamb)

Method:

Finely chop the onions, tomato and cucumber to produce thin strips. Place in a bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly.

YOGHURT MINT SAUCE

You can serve this as a dip, or with Poppadoms and a variety of starters…

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Plain Yoghurt
  • 2 teaspoons Mint Sauce
  • ½ level teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Chili Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Garam Masala
  • ½ level teaspoon Caster (or granulated) Sugar
  • 2 drops green Food Colouring (optional)

Method:

Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
